The NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational
Health and Safety is a globally recognized health and safety
qualification from an established independent examination board
with over 25 years experience in providing up to date and relevant
examinations.

Is the NEBOSH National Diploma a recognized
qualification?
The NEBOSH National Diploma is recognized by
IOSH – the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health – as
fulfilling the academic requirements for Chartered
Membership (CMIOSH) conferring the official title of Chartered
Safety and Health Practitioner. It is also accepted by the
International Institute of Risk and Safety
Management (IIRSM) as meeting their requirements for full
membership (MIIRSM).
It is also recognized by DOSH (Malaysia)
The National Diploma provides a sound basis for progression to MSc
level: A number of UK universities offer MSc programs that accept
the National Diploma as a full or partial entry requirement.
Holders of the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and
Safety may use the designatory letters “DipNEBOSH” after their
name and are invited to the annual NEBOSH Graduation and Awards
Ceremony in the year following the successful completion of their
award.
The NEBOSH National Diploma is accredited at Level 6 within the
National Qualification Framework (NQF) by the Qualifications and
Curriculum Authority (QCA) in England, the Department for
Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) in
Wales and the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment
(CCEA) in Northern Ireland. The logos of these organisations will
appear on the certificates awarded for the qualification.
What does the course cover?
The NEBOSH
National Diploma aims to provide the knowledge and understanding
required by a competent health and safety professional. The
syllabus comprises four core units:
Unit A : Managing health and safety
Unit B : Hazardous agents in the
workplace
Unit C : Workplace and work equipment safety
Unit D : Workplace-based assignment
Each taught unit
is separately assessed by written examination. In addition there
is a workplace-based assignment requiring application of learning
across the syllabus. A unit certificate is issued denoting
successful achievement of each unit. A Diploma award parchment is
issued on completion of all four units.
